    Fruit Basket Post

    I had the sole purpose of my next post to be about my summer.  Seeing that I just finished my first year at WCU this past May, I thought it would be nice to blog about the summer that followed.  Sitting here at 4:15am, typing, is not exactly what I would like to be doing, but when I cannot sleep I thought I’d get on a bit of a soapbox about random things…

    With school only being 1 week away, I sit here and wonder how things will be different come this year.  Meeting a lot of unique and awesome people via the Facebook Group has only furthered my interest in coming back to the ‘Whee.  When you put a bunch of unknown people into a group such as this, they all form their own “cliques”; maybe not as noticeable or what not, but it happens.  People start to talk about others in a good and bad way.  I also consider this to be like a fruit basket.  You have the good fruits that you’ll “take” with you; you’ll have the bad fruits which you may try but you wont like; and lastly you can have the fruits you’ve never tried and never will.

    The good fruits are those people that you’ll add, send them a friendly message, nothing attacking or insulting or too approachative; but one that simply says “Hi, I like meeting new people” (not those words, that’s simply an implied reply).  But the key is, that those people reply…I like finding “good fruits”.

    Bad fruits are the same way! You send them a simple message.  You may or may not hear back from them, but either way; the connection with them was never established.  Meaning you tried, but it turned out to have something wrong.

    The ones you don’t like, and you just leave could be good or bad; you wouldn’t know till you find out!

    Fast forward to now (yes we time warped back to May for no reason at all).

    A week away from school, people have met other people.  I personally have gotten to know so many people, some I’ve lost contact with (for what reason; I have no idea) but the majority of them I still talk with.  The past couple months of meeting new people has been awesome, but the task at hand is never finished.  I probably wont meet every single person I have talked to.  It will definitely be more than last year though. 

    This school year has a lot of expectations for me, I’m ready to move on from the high school life that I felt like I was living some of last year.  Not fully experiencing what I wanted to my first year; I wanna do new things, meet different people and expand my horizons.  I don’t mind meeting new people at all, anyone that I have yet to hear negative comments about is cool in my book.

    Summer blog will be coming soon, but I thought I’d go on about school.

    Wanted to talk about more but I felt like this was necessary to just get out.

    Im ready for my 2nd year in the mountains.  It’s gonna be a blast and meeting everyone will be amazing as well.  Cannot wait to touch down in the Whee next Saturday.  It’s finally here.
